Level 3 Award in Preparing for the Mentoring Role An introduction to the various aspects and contexts of mentoring, as well as being successful and effective in your role as a mentor. The Qualification is aimed at those individuals who work or wish to work as a mentor, in any sector where you have opportunity to help others develop. About the course The Course and Qualification is mainly distance and blended learning with 1-1 support from our facilitators using technology such as MS Teams. You will be introduced to how we work, an induction of the platforms and systems, and given a choice on how you wish to present your portfolio of evidence Course Entry Requirements: Learners are required to evidence the following before they can be accepted on to the course: Must be at least 19 years old (or older) on the first day of training Valid ID Document to prove your Identity Undertake a learner interview with one of our facilitators prior to enrolment Whilst there are no formal entry requirements for the qualification, a good understanding of English (reading and written) is required in order to complete the Qualification Course Content With a short single component, this course and qualification is to assess the knowledge and understanding required for you to work as a mentor. It provides opportunities for you to research and evidence the responsibilities, skills and qualities required to mentor clients ethically and professionally; as well as allowing you to explore the understanding and use of mentoring in your own specific context (as a paramedic, a driving instructor, or whatever role / industry you are in) and how you would go about idenitying the client’s goals and outcomes. How the course is assessed Learners are assessed by formative and summative, assessments conducted by your facilitator, there are no examination style assessments as part of this qualification. Formative Assessments: Formative assessments are an ongoing, overall observation of your skills, abilities, attitudes and working practices; this is done by your facilitator throughout the course to ensure that you have the right attributes appropriate to the role. Even if you pass all assessments, you still need to demonstrate to your facilitator that you are responsible and capable of the role, otherwise you could still be referred Summative Assessments: Summative assessments are final assessments of skills where you have opportunity to demonstrate to your facilitator that you have learned the required knowledge, either by demonstrating activities such as: Portfolio of Evidence (Written Work Products) What your course fees cover Access to the scheduled classes as part of the Guided Learning Hours (GLH) Registration fee with the Awarding Organisation Two submissions for the review of written work products Assessment and sign off of your portfolio (By Group or Cohort) * Quality Assurance of your portfolio (By Group or Cohort) * Electronic Certificate (E-Certificate For the duration of your qualification you will have access to our Microsoft Office 365 platform which will provide you with: Office 365 Licence: Access to online versions of the Microsoft Office Suite Access to your Online Portfolio Access to Electronic course materials (Textbooks etc) Certification Successful learners will receive a Regulated Level 3 Award in Preparing for the Mentoring Role (RQF) e-Certificate.
