About the Course

FREC® is a proprietary term established and owned by Qualsafe Awards. FREC refers to their suite of pre-hospital care qualifications that once had a pathway from Responder to Paramedic in a vocational setting.

Aimed at people who intend to work beyond that aspect of a First Aider in the workplace, or workplace first aiders in higher risk environments; or individuals wishing to work as event medical staff such as emergency responders. The course is the next step in structured or regulated training in providing emergency help and support at accidents or incidents prior to the arrival of an ambulance or other support.

The course is suitable for a wide audience, including police officers, rescue, fire, door supervisors, security and event staff, close protection or locations where help could be delayed, such as rural and agricultural settings, off shore etc.

The course is the next step above first aid, and whilst titles such as 'medic', 'responder', 'event medic', 'medical support' or whatever terms get thrown about - it is important that this qualification provides training to work within a scope of practice, and not as an autonomous practitioner.
